The New Chapter of My Life

Well, 2011 is gone. That means that chapter has ended. It is a happy one.

I am officially graduated from my studies. I am officially have my post-study-work visa.

You know what that means? Yes, I will continue to stay on in the UK for another two years.

What am I going to do? I am going to search for jobs in my related field which are mostly in London.

The new chapter of my life? The career stage and commitment to Soka Gakkai activities.

After I came back from the SGI Trets course in November, I took some time to think what am I going to do. Basically, what are my determinations? I decided to have full commitment and effort on searching for the right job and involved myself in Soka Gakkai activities to develop myself with faith, courage, and wisdom.

At the middle of January, I am heading back to Malaysia for the Chinese New Year. Ah....It's been like almost a year that I didn't go back to Malaysia. I miss my friends and family. Not to forget, the Malaysian food that I craved for a lot. Serious, I am not joking. Even though I cook my meals that suit my taste, but I do miss the Malaysian food badly. I am really looking forward to my three weeks to one month holiday in Malaysia. I have a lot of things to catch up over there.

Anyway, to end this post, I decided to type out a personal quote which is related to the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012.

'A new year, a new beginning, a new chapter'.

Challenge yourself and do not escape from problems. It is better to take risks with, of course, reasonable paces. I believe that we can develop our faith, courage, and wisdom stronger along the path of our life. The world and life is our stage and canvas. It is our determination to take action of what to do with our life. We learn and develop ourselves to blend in diverse environments and people. We connect and understand people without considering the differences.

Let's create great memories of not only in the year 2012 but also in our life.

The Evening Walk in Monaco, French Riveria (22/9/11)

Do you remember where the action movies were filmed, like Mission Impossible and James Bond, in Monaco? Also, the place where the rich and famous people, including celebrities, come down for the holidays in their own personal home?

Well, that's where I headed during the evening. Right after having the fun in the sun, it was time to enjoy the evening walk in Monaco.

I was enjoying the view of the Mediterannean Sea while the soundtracks from Mission Impossible and James Bonds films played. Sounds like I was on a mission. A secret agent. Haha. Kidding.

I miss them a lot. I told myself that one day, yes one day, that I will come and visit them in their home countries.

Stopped by at the perfume factory were actual perfumes and soaps were made with pure and natural ingredients. I didn't buy even though I was told the price of the products is cheaper than the ones that are sold in shops.

In the evening, we all decided to go to a restaurant where there's 'reasonable' price meal. I had red wine and steak for dinner. A perfect and affordable meal in Monaco.

Monte Carlo. It's a casino. I was not allowed to bring the camera inside to take photos and I don't gamble that much. I was just going to use my other precious time some place else. That is: the night walk in Monaco.

I was looking at the wide sea, enjoying the night view, and thinking about the good and bad memories that I had in my entire life. There were times that I laughed and there were times that I had felt the tears that flow out. It's either happy tears or sad tears. However, I felt relieved that I made this far. I tell myself that I'm moving forward and creating great memories in my life.

I realized that this is where football stars placed their signature plaque (can't remember what is was) along this path. Something like the one at Hollywood.

I said goodbye and good night to Monaco before heading back to Nice to stay one last night in French Riveria.

That was the last day for me to spend time in French Riveria. I moved on the next European destination. Take a guess. Where did I head next? Look forward to the next post.

Fun in the Sun at Nice, France (22/9/2011)

What is the thing that we all need to do when we are in Monaco? Have fun in the sun especially by the beach of course.

We were at the Central Square while the weather was absolutely perfect.

With my flips flops, sunnies, and relaxing clothes to suit this lovely weather.

Before heading down to the beach, we decided to check out the shops and flower markets at the other part of the city.

Beautiful bouquet of flowers which were displayed along the row of stalls.

Next stop, the beach and ocean. Woohoo!!!

People were enjoying and relaxing by the beach. Some enjoy the sun while some are suntanning their bodies especially when they are naked. Really, naked suntanning in public.

I was so hungry that I told them that I will go to a nearby cafe which is just across the road by the beach. I had my snack at the cafe while the girls were still having fun at the beach.

I was craving for some crepe. Yes, I had Fruit Crepes and Ice Cream. Perfect for this sunny weather.

That's my fun in the sun at Nice, Monaco. I miss the great times I had by the beach with great weather. I want to have fun at the beach again during the summer and when I am back in Malaysia.

Night in Nice, French Riveria

After seeing the snow, it was time to head on to my next destination where there's beach and sea: Nice.

Clear blue sea.

6 girls including check in at a nearby hotel. During my stay in Nice, I accidently bumped my head at the ceiling like six to seven times. T T

The first thing I did after I checked in was settling my laundry. Yup, my stinky clothes need to be cleaned up before I can enjoy the food and fun in Nice.

After the laundry, we went to the French restaurant. The food is way better than the one I had in Paris.

I had Jagger Bomb. I had a pint of beer. I had a glass of Mojito.

Somebody put the coin in my drink. It's called 'Save the Queen'. It means that if somebody put the coin in your drink, you have to drink it all in one shot. Then, basically, you have save the queen. I have to drink the whole thing continuously. T T No chance for me to enjoy my Mojito.

We decided to go to the next stop where there is live band music.

FYI, the lead singer is so hot. XD

We all danced, singed, and enjoyed ourselves while the night is still young. Some of us, including me, danced on the table. We all just have a good time.

It was another best night I have ever had.

The End of My Student Life, A New Chapter Begins

I attended my graduation which I got my Masters. Finally, all my hard work effort and, sometimes, tireless nights with notes and assignments. I have earned what I've got and I'm fully satisfied.

Here's me on my way to Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse where the graduation was held. The weather was so moody that I almost fell asleep. ><

I'm already in my graduation gown. My mom and I were hanging around and having tea and pastries.

My mom who came all the way from Malaysia to attend my graduation and also the following days of having mother and daughter times.

My coursemates

It was getting more crowded.

My course lecturer who has been guiding me and my couresmates throughout the whole course.

My mom and I went inside and take our seats. I was somewhere at the front with the graduates while my mom was at the guest seats. Throughout the graduation process, the photos are taken by my mom.

It's really kind of a 'Harry Potter' feeling. Chancellors, higher officials, and lecturers got onto the stage while someone was playing the organ.

Graduates' names were called out one by one. Shook hand with the Vice Chancellor. Just that. By the way, I got my certificate at the reception. So, it's fine. But still. Something is not right. Couldn't get a good picture of me shaking hand with the Vice Chancellor.

Before ending the ceremony, a few people giving their speeches and 'advice' of what we are going to do next in our lives. The next chapter in our life, to be precise.

The graduation ceremony has ended. Yipee. I officially ended my student life.

Yes, this is the end of my chapter of my life. Although I enjoyed my student life, but it does have to end somewhere. I can't be a student forever. I have goals in my life. I have chapters from my story that I want to share with others who are willing to listen. Time does pass by fast, yes. However, I need to move on with the path of my life.

The next chapter of my life: Work. Yes, I know it is going to be tough. Staring from looking for a job, going through interviews, and lots of process of before and after getting a job. Yet, I am still willing to challenge myself and not ignore these kind of situations. There is no escape from that. I am willing to take the working experience, internships, and graduate schemes to develop myself even better. As a better person. A better me. I made this decision long ago during my student life. I am going to move forward with the right decisions I made. I believe that whatever I did, I can become a better person. Again, a better me.

Looking forward to my new chapter which I will share my experiences of ups and downs in life.

SHINee in London (3/11/11)

I decided to post this up in my blog since there's many fans out there who loves SHINee and wondering what happen in London. Also, the part where I'm being fangirling that day. Hahaha.

I know about this like almost a few weeks before the London Korean Film Festival. SHINee was invited to perform at the Opening Gala Concert in Odeon West End cinema. The tickets sale was open and suddenly cause the Odeon server to crash. The server went crazy for like five hours. I was kind of going nuts but not to the extreme. I was with my laptop the whole time and I manage to get the ticket before it was completely sold out. Thank goodness. Although I didn't get the front seats, but at least I get to see SHINee.

On the day of the concert, took an early morning bus to London. I reached there around noon. I bought the ticket and I was waiting in line. Even though I got the seating place, but I was curious of how the Shawols (SHINee fans) gathered together, sing, dance, and talk about K-pop.

Not only I watched the SHINee concert, but I also went to watch a Korean film - 'War of the Arrow'.

This sign means UK loves SHINee in Korean. I was holding this a few times when a group of fans were shouting for SHINee and also cheering. Guards were asking us to line up properly. Well, understandable. They are just doing their jobs.

We were waiting and it was quite a long line.

Finally, we got into the cinema and we saw some SHINee person boards that we can take picture with. Guess who did I take with?

When I got into the Screen 2, music videos of 'Replay', 'Juliette', 'Ring Ding Dong', 'Lucifer' and 'Hello' were playing on the screen. Fans were so excited, screaming, and sang along while the videos were playing. Note: I was sitting way back so I can only zoom until I can take picture of the whole stage but not close up.

MINHO!!!!! My favourite bias of all time. Furthermore, my favourite K-pop idol. The Flaming Charisma Choi Minho.

Fans are waiting anxiously for SHINee to show up.

It started and fans were like screaming for their favourite biases.

SHINee got on stage and we like shouting and cheering like crazy. I was like OMG Minho!!!

They started off with 'Ring Ding Dong'.

Minho!!! in the middle.

Then, performed 'Senorita'.

After that, they introduced themselves and had a short interview. I couldn't hear properly of what they were saying because there were so many screams from the fans.

Next, it was time for individual performances. Onew, Jonghyun, and Taemin sang ballads while Minho and Key sang pop songs.

Onew sang 'The Road to Me'. Love his singing voice.

Jonghyun sang 'Nothing Better' with his sweet and romantic voice. I love the way he smiles.

It was sweet when one fan say 'Than You' before Jonghyun finish the last sentence of the song.

Key, the fashionista, strutted his performance with talent and fashionable outfit while singing 'Tik Tok'.

Key went closer to the fan who has the camera. Went off the stage and go slightly closer to the fan. That fan was so lucky.

I totally understand why so many fans like Key.

Yeah, Minho's solo performance. To be honest, every time when I see him perform, my heart flutters and I feel a bit dizzy in a good way. Haha. I like him because of his personality, performance, and looks. Yup, his nickname 'Flaming Charisma' suits him well.

He sang 'Rocketeer'. He also did rapping.

Minho, saranghaeyo. ^ ^

Lastly, Taemin's turn to perform. He sang 'I'll Do Well'. His singing talent is really awesome even at his age. It's really beautiful.

After a short video of the behind-the-scene 'Hello' music video, SHINee performed 'Hello'.

Next, they performed 'Juliette'.

During the performance on 'Replay', I have to move the camera to one side because the camera man was blocking my view. = =

The last performance was 'Lucifer'. Every single fan sang along with it and they know the fan chant.

Minho rapping. That's one of my favourite part of this song.

That was the end of the concert.

On the bright side, SHINee came to watch the movie. They were sitting two to three rows away from me. I'm like 'OMG'. I turn around and I said 'Hi' and 'Annyeong'. They smiled and waved back. My heart was beating and my head was dizzy. I keep saying 'Otoke' (means what to do) while covering my mouth continuously. I didn't turn back many times because I was kind of have a 'fangirling' moment in not a crazy way.

After having introductions about 'War of the Arrow', we all watching the movie. By the way, it is really a good historical war movie. You all should go check it out. It's about a war with just arrows and the man goes and save his sister while fighting against the bad guys. I say it again: It is a good movie and good storyline.

After the movie ended, I turned around and SHINee was gone. I heard that they left after watching the movie for 15 minutes.

It was the greatest Kpop moment I ever had. I get to see SHINee. Watch the film with SHINee even though they left after 15 minutes. I enjoyed the concert and I seen Minho which I admired so much. Not to forget, I do enjoy the movie. It is a memorable and emotional moment, well of course in a good way.

Thank you to Korean Cultural Centre for organizing this event. Thank you to Odeon for doing the upmost best on providing good services even though there are some fans who are too anxious (if you know what I mean). Thank you to SM Entertainment for bringing SHINee to London. Have SM Town concert in London. Thank you SHINee for coming to London and perform. I know that you all enjoy yourself visiting London as I saw some pictures in Facebook. You all look cute, cool, dashing, fashionable, and handsome. You too, Minho. Haha. Please come again.

Minho, you have great looks, performance, and personality. You are cool and handsome in every possible way. I love you and will support you all the way. Saranghaeyo. Kamsahamnida. Hwaiting!! ^ ^

I still love Minho's solo performance. Therefore, I downloaded fancam videos of Minho's solo performance. Can't stop watching it continuously. So far, my favourite song and performance because of Minho and his rapping skills.

To K-pop music industries, bring more K-pop artists to the UK as there are high demands from the UK fan communities. There are lot of K-pop fan communities in the UK. Believe me. There are a lot of Facebook groups, Twitter, and sites on K-pop which are created by those communities. Don't forget about exporting CDs and merchandises as many fans would love to purchase those. K-pop music industries and artists, hwaiting. Also, supporting K-pop music industries to expand K-pop to the whole wide world. =)

Jungfrau, Switzerland (20/9/11)

On a lovely sunny day, I went up to Jungfrau which is one of the Swiss Alps. While heading to the train station, I was taking some houses which looks really homey.

At the train station, while waiting for the train, I can see the snow from here. I can't wait to get up there and enjoy the snow view.

It took about an hour to reach Jungfrau but the train stop at a few stops.

On the bright side, we got some got pictures including the ones with snow.

We transited to another train to get to Jungfrau.

Going even higher and higher.

Look at the snowy mountains. Isn't it amazing?

Finally, we had reach Jungfrau and look at the snow.

Our first stop is visiting the Snow Cave which has ice sculptures.

Then, the highlight of being in Jungfrau is to get out, enjoy the snowy mountains, feel like we are in winter wonderland, and take photos.

We had our lunch at a nearby cafe to fill our tummies.

Then, we continue to go other parts of area in Jungfrau.

I checked out the Swiss watches which is very very expensive. Even I myself couldn't afford to buy these good quality Swiss watches.

The last one was tiring and challenging. All of us were walking along the snow mountains to the end point which has some kind of cafe. Apparently, at the end there's another nice view at the other side of the snowy mountains.

The thing is this. Even though everywhere we see are snow, but it's so hot because of the sun shining so bright. It's so hot that I have to take out my gloves, vest, jacket, and scarf. All that's left is just my sweater and I still feel hot. OMG. See what I mean.

It took about 40 minutes to reach our destination while we were like walking slowly, stop and rest for a while then continue, and breathing slowly. Some of us were walking fast while others were walking slowly. While walking I feel my blood was pumping like crazy especially at my neck.

Reach to the final point. Finally. But to be honest, I was quite disappointed with this view.

All that I know is that I am still alive.

Then, we all have to walk back and do the same scenario.

FYI, I was there. XD

After that, we have to head back down to the camping grounds because we have to be back in the evening for dinner. However, I waited for Da Hee and Flora as they haven't reached to the meetup point where we set before we go to the train station. So, Laura and Alvaro went on ahead to the train station while I waited. When Da Hee and Flora came, we rushed to the train station and finally met up with Laura and Alvaro. Got on the train and we were so exhausted. Not only that, I got a slight sun burn on my cheeks.

After resting our tiring legs during the whole train journey, we stopped by at a nearby store to get some Swiss chocolates. Did you know that Lindt chocolate, which is my favourite one, is originally made in Switzerland? There are a lot of variety of Lindt chocolate products. So far, my favourites are Dark Chocolate and the Chocolate Mousse inside the Chocolate. Then, we continue back to the camping grounds.

We were so exhausted and all we can think about is food. We had nice warm food including Apple Strudel.

That was the end of the day Switzerland.

The next day, we said goodbye to Switzerland and go for another long journey to the next destination.

I had already fell in love with Switzerland because of the wonderful snow view. It's as if that I am in the Winter Wonderland. When I earn enough salary or when I retired, I would love to come and visit Switzerland again. Even though it was tiring, especially the hot sun shining crazily while there's snow everywhere in the Swiss Alps, I still find that this is one of my awesome challenges (aka experiences) which I will never ever forget. It's tiring but I enjoyed it.

Next Destination: Switzerland

I said goodbye to Paris and told myself that I'll come and visit again.

On the way to Switzerland (a half day journey to Swizerland), I was enjoying the view and thank goodness there was no rain following us.

I reached Switzerland and I can see snow at the mountains.

We reached safely at the camping grounds. We were at Lauterbrunen, Switzerland.

The shocking thing is that we have to pay half of the Swiss Francs for five minutes hot shower. = = That sucks. First time hearing that we need to pay for the shower.

After we freshen ourselves up, went to the canteen tent to have our nice, warm, and delicious meal.

This is like a welcome drink. You basically take the cap of the bottle and stick it on the forehead. Then, drinking it while waving your hands beside your ears. It's quite strong but thank goodness for not being tipsy.

Our dinner has finally arrived. First off, cheese fondue.

Another thing that is quite entertaining. If you drop the bread in the cheese fondue pot, you have to kiss the person next to you on the cheek. It did happen to a few people and we were shouting 'Kiss, Kiss,Kiss'. XD It did happen to me to and I have to kiss my Korean girl friend on the cheek.

More food arrived. Meat and veggies.

I felt warm and happy after the meal. Then, I head straight to the bar with the rest of the gang.

We had beers. We played games. We danced. We go crazy. It's all about having fun.

We end the night in Switzerland. This is my first night of going crazy.

By the way, our song throughout this trip is 'Memories' by David Guetta featuring Kid Cudi.

The song is upbeat and the lyrics really mean something. Those crazy things we did are the best memories throughout this trip. The song is still in my mp3. Whenever I listen to this song, I still remember the good times we had during the trip.

My Day in Paris (18/9/11)

It was a perfect day for me to look around Paris.

My first stop is visiting the Lourve Museum starting from the inside which is looking at the wonderful arts and sculptures including Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.

Then, heading out and walking around near the Lourve Museum.

As usual, there are lot of tourists visiting this place. If you are a fan of art and history, then you should definitely visit this place when you are in Paris.

I mostly use the Metro to travel within Paris to see the places that I want to visit.

I've seen the Opera House where the story of Phantom of the Opera came from.

The St. Margaret Church which, to me, looks like a Pantheon.

Galerie Lafayette which sadly close on Sundays. Wanted to go to a cafe which serves delicious macaroons. Not only this shopping centre was closed but same goes with other shops on Sundays. T T

That's the Metro line which me and my friends travel from one place to another in Paris.

Visited the Notre Dame. Sadly, I couldn't get in because many people were waiting in the long queue to go in the Notre Dame. But, it's really nice on the outside. I wonder what it looks like inside there. Probably the inside is very eye-catching.

Took these while heading to our next destination. Autumn is coming.

We just keep walking and walking until we see something worth taking photos.

Yes, just slowly walking and taking pictures at the same time.

Had lunch at the nearby cafe and we rush to the Eiffel Tower because we were suppose to go for the bicycle tour. Unfortunately, we change metros and even if we were late about 5 - 10 minutes, the bicycle tour group was gone. Aish. There goes my 25 Euros down the drain. T T

On the bright side, I get to climb up to the Eiffel Tower. I climb to the very top of the Eiffel Tower to see the whole view of Paris. Although it is tiring, but it is worth seeing the city.

One thing that I can't miss trying out in Paris is the macaroons. Found the macaroon shop which serves the most delicious macaroons ever.

These macaroons are heavenly. Was jumping for joy after every single bites of these. If I remember correctly, I had Rose, Coffee, Pistachio, Jasmine, Passion Fruit with Chocolate, and the two other flavours which I forget. Overall, these are the best macaroons which I ever had.

After dinner near the Eiffel Tower, took a few more photos with the Eiffel Tower again.

I end my night in Paris by taking the canal cruise along the River Seine. Even though that night was raining and strong wind came by, but I stood there and manage to get good photos including the Eiffel Tower.

I said good night to Paris. I still haven't seen some places yet in Paris like the Catacombs, Napoleon's Tomb, inside Notre Dame and Opera House. I would love to visit Paris again. I want to explore more.

Goodbye Paris, I will come and visit again soon.

Rainy Day in Paris

It was a long journey ahead between London to Paris.

We first head over to Port Dover to take a ferry to France.

Throughout this journey, the weather was really cold including the strong wind. I met new friends from the tour group along the way.

Also, when I was inside the ship and looking at the sea I fell asleep. = = Yes, because of the ship rocking here and there until make me go to sleep.

Finally, reached France and the weather 'welcome us with open arms' *sarcastically. It was not a good weather to start at the beginning of my trip.

Got myself a second home - The TopDeck Coach Bus which I was in throughout my whole Europe trip. Travelling from one country to another in Europe by this bus.

Took almost half the day to reach Paris. After almost 5 - 6 hours, I've finally reached Paris.

Checked in at the hostel and went to a nearby French restaurant for dinner.

Here's my meal:

I had French red wine.

I had Escargot aka snails.

Yums.

Had French Onion Soup with lots of cheese and at first I thought there was Enoki Mushrooms in it. ^ ^"""

I ate Horse Meat with Macaroni.

Yes, I ate horse meat and the texture is like lamb. It tastes good.

Lastly, I had frog legs which is has more fat than meat. I do miss the frog legs in Chinese cooking style. In France, frog legs are cook in a different way.

After the French meal, went for a night tour in Paris. However, the rain came again and it was raining like crazy. I didn't get any good shots at all. =(

The last attraction to end my first night in Paris, the Eiffel Tower. Every hour at night, the lights of Eiffel Tower will go on brightly. Some people will definitely will take photos with Eiffel Tower, some people including couples admire the Eiffel Tower, and couples kiss near the Eiffel Tower.

Although I couldn't get some good photos in Paris at night due to the stupid rain, I was looking forward to another day in Paris and experience it.

Good night Paris and hope the weather is wonderful. With that, I can enjoy and experience as much as possible in Paris including taking good photos and doing things that I have never done before.

Back from My Europe Trip

I got back from London yesterday afternoon.

What are my thoughts and feelings about this trip?

Well, I met many people within the Topdeck group who are with me throughout this trip. Lots of Aussies, two Canadians, one Kiwi, two Colombians, one Mexican, two South Koreans, and two South Africans. They are fun and crazy. We had crazy times especially at night where we party at clubs and bars. We share our experiences that are funny and inspiring. The wake up song which is played during our journey from one country to another is still in my head. Yup, that's our song. Will let you know in my next post. But, for now make a guess on what's our 'song'. Something up-beat, catchy, and will never forget.

I learn a lot from this trip. Being independent like searching something new when I'm in a different place, talking to the local people, learning the basic languages in order to survive, savouring the local food, dealing with both hot and cold weather, drinking and chit chatting, partying like crazy, seeing sculptures and buildings, enjoying the magnificent views. Most importantly, each and every one of us is having a good time.

Once we had reach London, we said our goodbyes, exchange hugs, and go on with our own separate ways. Back to reality. Although I had a good time from this trip, but it has to end somewhere. We had to go back where we had to do our goals and determinations in our lives. I'm glad I met great people and learn something new and inspiring from this trip. I have my Topdeck friends' contacts and definitely will keep in contact with them. If I go visit their countries, I will definitely contact and meet up with them.

Another wish pop up in my head when this Europe trip ended: I wish to go another visit to European countries again. I also wish to visit the countries where my friends lived. I want to travel more and more and more and more. =)

My Europe trip posts are coming soon. But for now, it's time to take a break and recover from my cough before I get myself ready to start on my new chapter of life: working and a little bit of leisure.

Bourton-on-the-Water (14/9)

Went to a little town called Bourton-on-the-Water with Carmen. What do we do over there for one whole day?

See a variety of birds at the Bird Park.

These birds are beautiful and adorable. Lots to see and admire at the same time.

Went to see the model village of Bourton-on-the-Water.

Visited the Car Museum where there's cars from generation to generation including antics.

Had mussels for lunch at the nearby restaurant.

Finally, just walking around town while enjoying nature before heading back to Cheltenham.

That day was great and it's worth the visit to another town just to relax with no worries.

Hello, people. Had a day trip at the Bourton-on-the-Water.

However, I am unable to share my day trip as I'm getting myself ready for the 20 day Europe trip.

Yes, that's right. My well-deserved trip. After my hectic times of doing my dissertation during the summer, I am absolutely going to enjoy my trip. The experiences which are going to be gain through my five senses within this trip.

So, I'll be away from this blog. But, I'll try to keep myself updated throughout my trip via Twitter and Facebook.

When I get back, I'll not only talk about Bourton-on-the-Water day trip but also my Europe trip.

Carmen's Visit in Cheltenham (Part 2)

Today is just a walk around the town. We went to Holst Birthplace Museum where is the house which Holst live since young. Basically is a history of Holst with a mix of art, music, and Victorian style. The student price is 4 pounds.

Went Hog's Head for our mix of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Carmen had Chicken Tikka Masala Curry while I had Chicken Salsa Salad.

We even have our desserts.

For me, it's cheesecake and beer. XD I know most of you would prefer to have hot drinks and desserts together but anyway I prefer both it's either hot drink or beer or wine with desserts. It depends on personal taste. But so far, for me it doesn't taste really horrible.

Before we went back home, we walk around the Montepelier Garden.

It's been a long time that I didn't take photos of beautiful flowers and nature. Now, I got my free time to do so.

We went back home and do our usual stuff with our laptops and watching TV.

Tomorrow, we are going out of Cheltenham. We are going for a day trip at Bourton-on-Water.

Carmen's Visit in Cheltenham (Part 1)

Carmen came over to my place for a visit. For the past few days, we just laze around at home and cook meals (Day 1: Japanese Curry with White Rice, Day 2: Bak Kut Teh). Browsing through our own laptops while watching TV.

Yesterday night, this dear 'friend' accompany us.

This Sunday, I brought Carmen to the Car Boots Sale which is near the Cheltenham Race Course. Took about 30 - 40 minutes to walk from my house as there is no bus going to our destination during the weekends. On the bright side, we could use some nice fresh air while walking on a lovely sunny Sunday.

A lot of variety of things were sold. From fresh fruits, to tableware, to pictures, to toys etc. Almost the things that you need to fulfil your needs and satisfactions. Also, the price of those stuffs are affordable.

For breakfast, we share Roast Pork with Stuffing and Apple Sauce.

Next, we stop by at the Cheltenham Race Course where is one of my favourite places to visit in Cheltenham. This place is normally held for major events like graduations, racing week, Guy Fawke's Night and others. By looking at the view, it is truly breathtaking with sunshine and wind.

Cleaning Off the Dust

It's been almost 2 -3 months that I didn't even touch this blog.

What could be the reason behind this?

Well, as I said quite a long time ago, I was doing my dissertation during this summer. I'm almost done with it. All I need to do just print, bind, and pass up. Once done, it's goodbye study mode and hello to holiday.

A lot has been happen lately during the summer. My laptop got stolen when I was in Liverpool. I will tell this story when I'm ready. Another great moment that I encounter is that I attended a SGI South West Young Women Division summer semester course a few weeks ago. This...I will also share in my next post.

For me, I'm so happy that with all my hard work effort place in my dissertation work. I hope the upcoming result shows my actual proof of my hard work effort. By the way, my dissertation is about the establishment of K-pop music in Europe. It was fun while I was doing this dissertation. Even though there are times that I burn midnight oil and work endlessly with my laptop, but still here I am right now. I have survived.

Again, once I hand in my dissertation, I'm free as a bird.

I'm looking forward to my Europe trip.

I'm going to clean off the dust of my blog and off to a fresh start as....'soon to be retired from student life and the beginning of new chapter in my life'.

Bon Jovi Concert in Bristol (27/6/11)

That day is a very very special day. Yes, that's right. It's Bon Jovi Concert at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol.

Around a few months ago, I booked this ticket, via Internet. I still kept this as my memory after the Bon Jovi concert. It cost about 80 over pounds including online booking. I was at the pitch standing. I'm one of the crowds who just go crazy over Bon Jovi. Been a fan of Bon Jovi since high school. Their songs still rock my world and Bon Jovi is my number one rock band.

My coursemates and I went there earlier. Like 2 hours before the concert start. Came earlier because we want to stand at the front part of pitch standing and get a better view of Bon Jovi. Hahaha.

Other Bon Jovi fans are also waiting. They are so excited about the concert.

Finally, we got into the stadium. Ran for the best place to see the whole stage and Bon Jovi. Perfect view. Thank goodness that day it rains for only a short while. Even though I didn't buy the ticket for Diamond area (cost about 300 pounds), at least can be one of the crowds who stands and sing along with Bon Jovi songs.

Yeah!!! Jon Bon Jovi is up on stage!!! Everybody cheered and welcomed him with open arms.

Yeah!!! Jon is the best.

Bon Jovi continues on with a lot of my favorite songs like "Bad Medicine", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "It's My Life". They just continuously play the songs without stopping. We all sing, dance, shout and wave our hands.

Then, he moves on with "Pretty Woman".

Next, "Blaze of Glory".

That's the end of Bon Jovi Concert.

It's a really spectacular concert that I ever experience in my entire concert. So far the best rock concert I have ever attend. I don't mind to attend another Bon Jovi concert. Hehehe.

My feet and shoulders were aching. I almost got sore throat but at least I had fun that day.

After the concert, I did buy Bon Jovi hat, t-shirt, and photobook. Another thing is that all taxis were not available to sent me and my coursemates to our destinations. I like to thank the Bristol police officer who sent me to the hostel and my coursemates to their friends' house in the middle of the night. Really appreciate it.

That night is a memorable one and yes I'll say it again. The best rock concert in the whole wide world.

At the moment, "The More Things Change" by Bon Jovi is my favorite song. This song is still in my head. I sometimes do listen to Bon Jovi songs. It's really addictive. I am still a Bon Jovi fan and will always be my number one rock band. Looking forward to see what Bon Jovi are going to do next after the Bon Jovi Concert World Tour.

Sunday Afternoon Tea

Went to Queen's Hotel to have typical afternoon tea on a lovely sunny Sunday. Hiromi wants to have an experience of having afternoon tea before she goes back to Japan. Pictures are saying it. XD

We sat for a while until we realized that it's too hot. Even I can feel the heat from my jeans @ @. So, we decided to have the afternoon tea inside.

There it is a lovely afternoon tea set: scones, sandwiches, cakes, and mint chocolates. =)

Scones with cream and jam are the best. ^ ^

I'm eating the scone like burger. Hahaha.

The afternoon tea was quite nice and reasonable. After that, we enjoy the rest of day with the good weather (including the sun).

Dinner at Thai Brasserie (22/6/11)

I invited Hiromi for dinner at Thai Brasserie. She's going back to Japan at the end of this month. So, I decided to treat her a nice Thai dinner. Thai food is Hiromi's favorite.

Thai Brasserie is somewhere near the Montepelier Garden. The restaurant is busy on not only the weekends but also on weekdays. Very popular. Luckily, I booked a reservation earlier.

Each of us has a bottle of Singha beer to quench our thirst.

SHINEE Japan Debut Premium Reception in London (19/6/11)

I was at the Abbey Road Studios. Being there as a K-pop music fan and a university student (doing my dissertation about the establishment of K-pop music in Europe).

Reached there around noon. Waited for like 5 - 6 hours just to see SHINEE. I like MinHo very very much.

Lots and lots of fan were waiting for them since 9 am. Then, more fans come waiting at both sides of the Abbey Road.

SM Town and other K-pop artists, please please please come to UK.

Major local presses and television stations came to broadcast this event. Fan girls are interviewed about how they feel about K-pop.

While we were waiting, some entertainment to keep us really excited. This guy is really really good. He know some K-pop cheoreography moves. Other fan girls join in and they also know how to dance along. K-pop fever. Woohoo!!!

We were cheering on all the way. Keep chanting "We want Shinee!!", "SM Town London" etc. Some even do the fan chants.

Lee Soo Man (gray suit), chairman of SM Entertainment left the studio. Meaning it's the end of the show and....SHINEE is going to come out.

Finally, after waiting for like 45 minutes, SHINEE has finally come out. Yes, I see them from afar. I couldn't get a good picture because the fans were jumping and screaming with excitement. Fans also want to take pictures and videos of SHINEE. We were mesmerized by their handsome and charming looks.

I get to see Minho. I was jumping and shouting with excitement. OMG!!! MINHO!!! Saranghae~!!

Too bad JongHyun was not there because he was sick. He's having a high fever. Wishing JongHyun will recover fast and get back into shape.

It was worth of going there. I get to see the glimpse of SHINEE. Excited to see K-pop coming to Europe. First time experiencing the K-pop fandom phenomenon. Able to get a few contacts from the fans for e-mail interview. Fulfill my part of the dissertation task. So many reasons I could think of and yet it is really a great experience.

K-pop artists and idol groups have to come to Europe. Expand the K-pop music to Europe and the whole wide world. Come to London and other parts of the European countries for more concerts. Love ya K-pop music. The whole world is loving K-pop even more from time to time.

Germany Day 3 (3/6/11)

That day is the visit along the Rhine River.

First, start off with a nice warm breakfast.

Croissant with Egg, Ham & Cheese

After breakfast with a nice cup of coffee, we head over to the Rhine River area where there is also some villages. It's about 1 hour to reach our destination.

My godmother and I waited for the boat to arrive. We took the boat trip while my uncle and aunt drive to the next village, St. Goar, where we will meet up later.

A lot of people especially the tourist were on the boat. They are just enjoying themselves with the good weather and nice scenery. Thank goodness that day was not the weekends. If it is, then it's so stuffy and possibly couldn't get to take good photos along the Rhine River.

I was like the rest of the people who is enjoying the view and taking good photos.

This boat trip ends at Cologne. But then again, we had to stop at St. Goar. Hopefully, I will come again and this time taking this boat trip along the Rhine River till I reach Cologne.

We were basically like visiting a few villages. Basically is village hopping.

And....last but not least, Bacharah where there are interesting houses. Really what I could imagine those kind of German, Austrian, and Switzerland houses.

Not to forget, Germany is well known for wines. Look at the steep wine vineyards.

Then, we went up the hill where the castle is. Also, to see the whole view of Rhine River.

Decided to go back home after an awesome day. Had aching legs but still it is a wonderful experience.

Germany Day 1 & 2 (1- 2/6/11)

I gave a surprise visit for my godmother. She was back from visiting my cousin in the US. Before going back to Malaysia, she stopped by at Germany to visit Uncle Sonny and Aunt Isolde. I knew that she is coming so I told the whole family not to tell her that I was coming.

I came to Germany on the day before my godmother come. It took me almost half the day to come here.

Had an Italian dinner at Aunt Isolde's best friend's restaurant.

That was the end of Day 1 by getting myself to sleep.

On Day 2, I woke early in the morning to surprise my godmother at the Frankfurt airport. Had my coffee to keep myself awake. I just love Nespresso. XD Reached the airport, waited for my godmother to come out from the arrival gate. Once she's out, she was so surprised. The result of the surprise attack was a SUCCESS. After not letting her know that I'm coming (it's been like 1 and a half months she didn't know), it is a total SUCCESS.

Went back home and have a nice heavy brunch with eggs, bacon, and sausages.

Sun of Happiness

I just woke up from bed. Yes, I slept throughout the whole Sunday morning. Today, is just bumming around in my room. Let it be continue my MA project and leisure times (eg watch movies, play NDS, reading Fried Egg with Chopsticks, reading Sensei's guidance and anything related to SGI).

Just another Sunday to be just at home and relax. The next week will be more busy. Isn't that the regular kind of thing where you work the whole weekday? Then, all you think about is just relax at home during the weekends. I think I'm probably going to be like that once I finish my studies.

I had decided of what I'm going to do with my project. I'm going to (yet again) doing research about K-pop but instead focusing upon its establishment (marketing and consumption) in Europe. You know the popularity of K-pop in Europe and even fans from all over Europe who likes K-pop.

For now, I was given a task by my tutor to think about some questions (related to the establishment of K-pop in Europe) within two weeks. I've been up for the past two nights to search articles and journals to have the understanding about K-pop. I mean, even though I'm a K-pop fan (from high school up until now), I still need to have a deeper understanding about it so I can get better marks for my MA project.

Fingers crossed and hope for the best.

A few days ago, I went to Swindon to attend a Young Women's Division meeting. We started to chant for about 30 minutes. Then, we read a Kayokai essay, written by President Ikeda, about the "Sun of Happiness". There's a sentence which I really like: Even though there are stormy and rainy days, we are the sun of happiness that shines bright through the darkness.

Yes, it's like our life. No matter what problems we may face, we still move forward and face our fears. We think positively and stay calm into how we can overcome the obstacles.

All of us are truly are the "Sun of Happiness".

Dinner at Txapela (16/5/11)

When you come and visit Barcelona, this is a "must-eat" place where some delicious Tapas are served. This place was recommended by my new friend, Isabelle. She told me that her uncle said "you must go there and eat delicious Tapas". Her uncle is a chef who try about 40 within 4 times of visiting this place. So, we went there and try the Tapas. It's along the Passeig Garcia near Catalunya. Basically, it is just a few minutes walking from the Metro train at Catalunya.

This place reminds me of sushi bar where you can try a variety of delicious food. By looking at the dishes, my mouth was watering.

There are more than 50 Tapas to choose from to make your mouth watering. Each of them cost less than 2 euros. The best one cost about 4 - 5 euros.

Don't forget to have Sangria Wine by your side. XD

In Love with Gaudi (16/5/11)

That day is basically a visit to buildings and architecture, including Sagrada Familia, which is designed by Antonio Gaudi.

Next, went to visit the three houses. It's basically like three architects including Gaudi competing against each other on who has the best designed house.

Went to visit the Casa Batllo which shows the beauty of nature and environment design. Unfortunately, the audio guide was not that helpful as it turns back into Spanish instead of English. So, all I could do is just mesmerize the inside and outside of Casa Batllo.

End my day with a cup of tea by the cafe along the road to Catalunya.

In the end, I have fell in love with Gaudi's design. I don't mind to visit again and I don't mind to go another trip to Barcelona.

Sagrada Familia (16/5/11)

The one place that I truly want to go and a must see is Sagrada Familia.

Sagrada Familia is a Roman Catholic Church designed by Antoni Gaudi. The construction started of in 1882. Even though he passed away, the construction still continues by his followers to make his astonishing design into a truly breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Up until now, it's still under construction. This magnificent building will be done by 2030.

As you can see, it is still continuous construction of this building.

But it you look closer, every single detail of it is truly magnificent.

I was waiting in queue and luckily it wasn't a long one as I waited for about 20 minutes to get into Sagrada Familia. For me, as a student, cost about 10 euros per entry. Add 2.50 euro if you want to take the lift to go up to see the whole view of Barcelona from the top of Sagrada Familia. Did not take the extra 2.50 euro for that. I just took the regular student price ticket to enter the Sagrada Familia.

A word of advice which was given to me from my friend: If you want to take good pictures of the Sagrada Familia from the outside, it is best to come earlier (let's say 7 - 8am). Why? Because if you come late tourist buses will come and the buses might block the view of Sagrada Familia. Hence, you will not take good pictures. Another reason is that once the sun rises in the early morning, it is truly a good opportunity to take Sagrada Familia which is truly breathtaking.

Anyway, once I finally got inside Sagrada Familia, I had a look at the entrance of Sagrada Familia.

As I got inside Sagrada Familia, you know what is my impression when I see it? It was like my eyes and mouth were wide open. In my mind, it was "Ohmigod"!!!! The art and architecture of the inside is really (I mean REALLY) magnificent.

Before my very eyes, what I can see on how Gaudi has inspiration through his childhood times. He used to stayed in a village where there is a lot of nature around him. Therefore, through his inspiration and intelligence, he created the interior which created something as if we are in a wonderland (eg. the columns are like the forest trees, making shapes like we are sailing through the sea). Anything that makes out from imagination. Even variety of materials like ceramic, glass, wood etc are used for building Sagrada Familia.

Went to the other outside of Sagrada Familia. That one is even more detailed.

Throughout my visits to churches and cathedrals, this is the best one that I see. Not to forget, this is my favorite place to visit. I don't mind visiting again for the 2nd time including taking the lift to go to the top of Sagrada Familia. Or even better, once Sagrada Familia is completed, I will visit again. I started to fell in love with Gaudi because of his work and designs.

Barcelona Trip Day 2 (15/5/11)

Another great day to walk around the other parts of Barcelona.

First stop to visit was Park Guell. Just so you know, I was walking with my flip flops because I still have my left sore foot.

Anyway, back to my walking around Barcelona story. There's "entertainment" in the train where you normally hear local songs.

I was in Park Guell. This is where I start off looking at the wonderful design and architecture by Gaudi himself.

Truly a mesmerizing architecture. It's not only this but there's even more of Gaudi's works. That will be the next time when I talk about this in my next blog post.

After looking around Park Guell, I decided to move on to my next destination, Castle MontJuic, which I was supposed to go on the 1st day of my trip but it was raining.

I took the cable car up to Castle MontJuic.

Had a light lunch before continuing my walk around the castle. Chicken Puff Pastry and freshly squeezed Orange Juice

On this very castle itself, I get to see the whole view of Barcelona city and port by the sea.

After seeing the wonderful view of Barcelona, I decided to go to Catalunya and La Rambla which my friend recommend me to go.

Now, in Catalunya Square or any part of Barcelona, you have to be careful with the gypsies, because they will pickpocket your personal belonging. When I was there, I was taking pictures. Suddenly, two gypsies came from behind and walk past me. It's like they came out of no where and it's like ghosts just past by me. It was really scary. Anyway, at least my personal belongings are safe and sound.

This is La Rambla where you can walk along this path. Rows of shops and cafes along the way. You can also admire some paintings and buy some souvenirs.

Had my first Sangria Wine by the cafe while enjoying the sunny weather.

I walk till the very end of La Rambla and I see another port with boats.

Ah yes, the seagulls, the annoying natural alarm clock which wakes me up early in the morning during my last year summer semester course.

I went to another port which is called Port Olympic.

From there, you reach the beach where you can enjoy the sun with your friends and family. Either you want to sun bathing, play beach volleyball, or play near the sea. Too bad I didn't have the time to do so because my main purpose to come to Barcelona was to go for sightseeing and enjoy the local food.

I end my night with some Tapas with my new friend. Had dinner at Tapas Gaudi. Tapas is actually side dishes which you can choose from. Most of them are fresh seafood like octopus and anchovies. The good thing about Tapas is that you can choose a lot of varieties as you want. Also, you can share with your friends while enjoying Tapas. Don't forget to order Sangria wine. XD

However, the Tapas at Tapas Gaudi are too salty. Sangria Wine is too sweet. Because of that, I have to drink water continuously even I continue drinking at the hostel till I go to sleep. The price is too expensive like the Octopus on Potatoes cost 10 euros. So, I wouldn't recommend to come and have a go at this place.

I will recommend the best place to have Tapas. This I will tell you in my next blog post.

I end my night with watching the view of Torre right outside the window while there is a full moon and fireworks.

The Beginning of Barcelona Trip

Before I left to Barcelona, I stayed over at the 007 Travelers Hostel in Bristol which cost 15 pounds for one night.

Took the RyanAir to Barcelona. Bye bye UK.

Had my simple brunch.

By the time I reach the Girona airport, I waited for my friend to arrive from Newcastle. Suddenly, it turns out she miss her flight because of the bus service problem. Therefore, I was on my own, with my aching left foot, in Barcelona.

Took the metro train to the Barcelona Urbany Hostel for 3 nights. All together cost 76 pounds for 3 nights.

After having a nice shower and relaxing for a while, it's time to explore a bit for half of that day itself. It really is the perfect weather.

Like I said, I use public transport like the metro to the places I wanted to go. I bought the 4 day travel ticket which cost only 31 euros to use any bus or train within Barcelona.

I reached Barceloneta and there it is.....

Port Vell.

Had my first local meal, Seafood Paella for lunch and dinner by the port.

Then, I continue on to walk along the port while taking more photos.

Next stop.....Espanya.

I had a nice mug of beer to quench my thirst before continuing my journey.

I entered to this very building which leads me to....

the shopping heaven. XD I would come here for my 2nd visit just to window shopping this whole area.

Then, I move to the terrace, the very highest floor, where I'm standing to see the whole view of the Espanya area.

I waited around Espanya till the late evening. The reason is because there is the Magic Fountain which has light and music. It happens every weekend between 9.30 - 11.30pm from October to May. However, during that evening, it suddenly rain heavily. Even worse I had to go around because there is the car event. Keep on walking while my left foot is aching.

In the end, I had reached my destination and I was amazed with the Magic Fountain. Even though the rain continue on until I was soaking wet, I still continue to take pictures and videos of the Magic Fountain to end my day.

This is just the beginning of my Barcelona trip.

There is more to come about my eye-opening and inspiring things that I see throughout my whole trip. Wait for it.

Yup, I'm back from Barcelona.

The days pass by with my sore left foot while walking around Barcelona. Seeing the sceneries and architectural buildings before my very eyes. Truly breathtaking.

Made a new friend from Quebec, Canada.

Saying simple words like Hola, Si, No, and Gracias. Managed to roughly understand what the locals are saying with body language. XD Most of the people like in the tourists place can speak English (Thank goodness)

Tried the local foods like Seafood Paella and Tapas.

Truly an amazing and challenging trip for me.

Will upload the photos as soon as possible....right after my long afternoon nap and resting my sore foot so it would be in speedy recovery.

Bad Nerves and Tension Are Out

Everybody has the tension. I mean the anxious and nervous scenario when the results or whatsoever you want to know. It's like knowing whether you have got through the next round in the competition.

Me? Yes, I've been anxious and nervous on certain things since young.

For the past few weeks, I was nervous about my few assignments results. One is that I really worked hard while the other, which is the presentation, I did really bad.

All I could do is wait and wait and wait and wait. While I'm waiting, I was a nervous until my hands are trembling. My heart was beating fast and sometimes I couldn't breath properly.

What I do to calm my nerves? Listening to Yiruma's piano music while being in my own personal world to calm down. Sometimes, I eat ice cream to cool off. I even went to work out and yoga yesterday. Throughout the days, all I do was chanting. Chanting that I can get through this. Chanting that everything is gong to be ok. Well, of course I tell myself to be fine and don't be like a person who worries too much.

Today is the day when I get my results. I was yet again anxious. Breathing slowly and trying to imagine that I was listening to the ocean breeze. Telling myself that not to worry.

When I got back my results, I did pass my results but I was a little bit disappointed. At least, I pass. Everything is fine. These results telling me that I have to work hard.

This means I have to really work hard on my final year project. This means I have to really work hard on my path of my life with faith and determination.

All I could say is this: I finally get this tension and bad nerves out of it. I can calm down. There still more things that will come in my way and I have to face them. Therefore, again, work harder with faith and determination.

A "Sign" That I Feel Thankful For

Something extraordinary happen today.

Yes, at first I was excited about the cooking lesson. Was excited of what I'm gonna learn to cook new dishes. But it turns out that at the very last minute, when I was at Gloucestershire College, the class was canceled because not many people show up. That time I was slightly disappointed.

After a walk in the park in Cheltenham and a nice Wether's Original milkshake (it taste really really good), I decided to go for the SGI-UK planning meeting. Before that, I couldn't attend because I was supposed to go for cooking lesson. Since the cooking lesson was canceled, I might as well go for the SGI-UK planning meeting to fill up my time instead of going back home and being with my laptop in bed.

I attended the meeting and it was truly a wonderful conversation with leaders and members. I chanted whole heartedly with full of fate and hope. After the meeting, one of my senior sent me back home.

On the way back home, we had an engaging conversation which is related to my future. As in what I'm gonna do after studies etc. We still keep on going with this conversation right in front of my house. My senior gave me useful advice about my future career that I always hope for. Advising me to have determination to go for any related possibilities that are available. It was truly an inspiring conversation I've ever had. It gives me the sense of realization and motivation.Yes, I aim for my future dream career but for now I have to focus on my studies and dissertation first.

To me, I think I was given some sort of a "sign". Yes, I was disappointed that the cooking class was cancelled. Then again, this led me to attend the meeting and have a truly inspiring conversation with members and leaders. I feel thankful about it. I truly am. The word "determination" is kept in my thoughts and I'm gearing towards what I want to do.

Summer is coming. The English roses are welcoming the season while the sun is shining. A lovely weather. While I'm busy doing my dissertation, I'll be visiting my juniors in Liverpool during summer. Also, I will also be doing some traveling when I'm free. Looking forward to this summer. =)

It's All About Timing and Balance

Over the weekend, I was sick in bed. Yup, the 2 in 1 sickness (fever and cold). I've tried my very best to get well. Let it be drinking chicken and egg soup, salad, green tea, and other thing which is light and hopefully can cure my sickness.

Yesterday, I did attend the Young Women Division meeting in Stroud. Even though I was sick, I still have the commitment to attend the meeting. We started chanting for like an hour, exchange our point of views about Ikeda Sensei's essay about the Ikeda Kayokai, and most importantly each of us say some determinations and what kind of results we will get by the end of May. You could say what results which proofs our hard work and effort to achieving our goals in our daily lives. It was truly a great experience of sharing with other members. I did not regret on doing this. Thank goodness that I got out of the house and do something instead of being a patient in bed the whole day.

Today, I was basically doing the things I need to do then doing my leisure stuff. Bought groceries in the morning and then working on my assignments which I need to hand in next Tuesday. Nadiah came over to house to get the "kaya" from me. She also did help me out with the budget plan since making a budget plan is not my great strength of doing it because I'm really no good at accounting. Anyway, thanks for the help. Going to continue on working on the assignments tomorrow. Hopefully, all my hard work on doing these assignments will be able to raise my marks higher.

Leisure time? You could say that I was watching movies and dramas. I did chat with a few friends, of mine through Skype. Jen, who is my dear SGI sister from Australia, gave me useful advice of determination in life. I look up to her a lot and yes I do miss her very much. Also, updating my blog like what I'm doing right now. This is what I need to destress from loads of assignments. I'm sure you would do the same of how to destress from the amount of work you have been doing. The brain needs a physical and mental break from work.

Well, as you can see, all the things I did is all about timing and balance. There's the time of arrangement of what needs to be done. There's the time when one person needs to rest for a while and then continue on with what we are suppose to do. Let's say when one person is really really tired, he/she needs to rest before getting ill. Like me, I learn my lesson: Never overwork. If you continue, to work like crazy, you'll probably end up like me who is sick and being a patient in bed. Again, the balance and timing is important which applies to taking care of your mind and body physically and mentally.

I'm gonna stop here. Will continue my daily things on everyday basis tomorrow.

Time to eat some healthy fruits so I can get better as soon as possible.

This is my most favorite Disney movie of all time. Rapunzel, the lost princess, wants to the the floating lanterns which happens every year on her birthday. She went to the kingdom with the help of Flynn Rider while the evil, greedy woman is away.

The one thing I find it really funny is Maximus the horse.

Whatever he does, I lol-ing all the way.

Not to forget, the cute and adorable Pascal, Rapunzel's best friend.

The most mesmerizing part which I watch it so many time, because I love it, is the floating lantern scenario while Rapunzel, Flynn, and Pascal are on the boat. Truly romantic.

This leads me to my favorite soundtrack. Of all the soundtracks which I had heard from this movie, "I See The Light" is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It makes my heart flutter and think "this scenario is truly romantic".

Again, this is a truly romantic Disney song.

This movie truly gives me the mix of emotion. From laughing, being happy, felt the movie is romantic, being a little bit emotional at one part of the scene etc. It is an all in one mixture worth watching Disney movie.

This really deserves a 10/10. I'm going to watch this again.

Rio

This is story of the Blue Macaw bird, Blu. When young, he was caught by some baddies. When he reached Minnesota, he was found by Linda. Then, they became best friends forever kind of scenario. About 15 years later, Linda owns a bookshop.

Suddenly, this wacky professor came out of no where and ask Linda to come along to Brazil. He actually want to make Blu mate with Jewel, the female Blue Macaw.

Isn't that sweet?

They caught by the baddies and also met with the evil bird, Nigel.

Basically, Blu and Jewel just have to escape the baddies, with the help of their friends, and go back to where they came from. Like Blu wants to be with Linda. The only problem is that Blu can't fly. Along the way, Blu and Jewel relationship becomes even more better.

For this movie, it's like you're regular Disney movie which is the good guys win and the bad guys lose. Friendship and romance are in this movie. The part which I like about is Raphael, the toucan, saying "It matters what's in here (heart)". To me, it means whatever you aim for is come from the passion and commitment you want to achieve. This movie gives a few pointers about the "moral" of the story.

There are quite some good plots in the movie. I love the songs which are sang by the two birds.

Really addictive songs.

Overall, this movie deserves a 8/10.

By the way, there is the Angry Birds Rio version. I played a few levels of this game before with my aunt's iPad. Yet again, it is truly addictive. When I get my hands on a new phone, I'm really going to get that game. Really badly want that game.

Gnomeo and Juliet

The cute romantic version of Romeo and Juliet. Well, with gnomes of course.

Remember when during our either school and/or college days? One of those year we learn about the good ole' Shakespeare's tragic love story, Romeo and Juliet.

I used to have that during my drama class in the college days. We act with the modern English, not the traditional English. I read the traditional English one once and it's a bit confusing. I mean with the old terms like thy, thou etc.

It's basically two of the families are against each other. Both Romeo and Juliet love each other. Then, the ups and downs come like someone died or even father refuse Juliet to see Romeo and so on. I find it sad and touching while reading the play of Romeo and Juliet.

For Gnomeo and Juliet, it's different. Aren't they adorable? XD Sometimes, I do feel excited when Gnomeo and Juliet are together. Not to mention, for Gnomeo, he's just handsome especially with his slight of British accent. The overall plot is similar but the end is different. Guess what it is?

I believe this movie is aim for families including the children so that they could understand how the actual story goes. This movie was made in an entertaining way. As usual, we do love happy endings of every single fairy tale movie we watch. Yes, some parts of the movie are very amusing especially the cute little ones like the mushroom, little gnomes, and little rabbits.

For this movie, I give 8/10.

Sucker Punch

Stepfather sent Babydoll to the mental house after her mother's death. Meets up with other girls and be a club dancer. Try to escape the crazy house by dancing and ends up in her illusion while her friends get the 4 items.

This so called dark action movie is not my favorite at all.

The plot of the movie is way out and I almost fall asleep. Even though there are hot chicks in action in a dream world while Babydoll is dancing to create illusions to the bad guys but still it almost bores me to death on the plot of the story. All I could hear the same line from the imaginary guy saying : "One more thing." And the next thing you know, is killing zombies, dragons, robots etc. It's a really confusing and boring storyline.

My rating: 4/10

Burlesque

A small town girl, name Ali, came to Los Angeles to make big dreams of her. Going to her own path of life. She ends up being in the Burlesque Lounge. From there she becomes a performer with her amazing voice. Relationship with Jack, jealousy from rivals like Nikki, friendship, and family bonding with Tess and the dancers in the Burlesque Lounge.

What I like about this musical is the music and dance itself. Imagine that you are in the Burlesque Lounge, watching the performance as audiences. You have a nice Martini by your side while you enjoy the hot and sexy performances. You also might enjoy the wonderful vocals from the singers like Cher and Christina Aguilera.

All I can say is it's the best musical I have ever watch.

If this comes out as a West End Musical Production, I would definitely absolutely watch it. I'm sure you'll do the same in thinking "I'll definitely want to watch this live musical especially when it's in either at Broadway or London.".

I give a rating for this movie 8/10.

I only like the music and the dance itself. The plot of the story is almost the same like any other musical such as Fame. Kind of like going for the dreams.

Again, I do love the music and dance. I would definitely enjoy the live show like this one.

William & Kate Royal Wedding

Today is a very special day. The whole world is watching a live royal wedding.

I was totally amaze with the stunning Alexander McQueen wedding dress which was wore by the bride, Kate Middleton.

Choirs were sung, vows were exchanged, speeches from some very important people (eg bishop), and many more at Westminster Abbey.

William & Kate finally become a newly wedded couple. They have become the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Sat on the royal carriage and head back to Buckingham Palace. They wave to the crowd who are cheering and wishing them happiness in marriage.

People gathered outside the Buckingham Palace to see the royal wedded couple and their families at the royal balcony.

William and Kate had the balcony kiss twice.

They finally went back inside the palace and have their lunch reception. Delicious meals and awesome wedding cake while enjoying performances (which I can't see @ @). Oh well.

It truly a memorable royal wedding like a fairy tale. Imagine it is like "Beauty and The Beast" or any other Disney princesses tales/movies scenario.

Congratulations to William & Kate. Have a happy and loving marriage life.

By the way, there is a movie about their love life. Was surprised about it.

Thai Food Take Away

Whenever I feel lazy to cook, I decided to have take away food instead.

I had Thai food takeaway from the restaurant where I had dinner with my family previously. I had dinner after the "Hidden Lives" at Widden Primary School where students, families, friends, and teachers had the 25th anniversary celebration.

I bought two dishes and one Jasmine rice.

The dinner I had was delicious.

I also got delicious prawn crackers which was included. Going to eat them later for midnight snack.

Tomorrow is the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. I realize that Kate Middleton is really beautiful. Most of the people are anticipating this amazing event. Looking forward on watching this international event through YouTube.

'Hidden Lives' at Widden Primary School

Let me give a brief introduction about "Hidden Lives". This is a community arts and oral history project taking place at Barton and Tredworth, Gloucester. It is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. It is led by the Gloucester Theatre Company in partnership with Gloucestershire Archive and the University of Gloucestershire.

It is basically sharing our own personal story/memory/experience with others. Sharing stories about their daily lives especially in the area of Barton and Tredworth.

I am currently volunteer as an event organizer for this event.

This evening, I was at the Widden Primary School.

The school itself was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1986. A school which its open to children from different cultural background, families, and homes.

Today, this school celebrated the 25th anniversary. Students, teachers, ex-students, ex-teachers, friends, and family had come together to celebrate this memorable day.

"Hidden Lives" came to this school to not only allow people to share their memories and stories about this school but also to create awareness about this project. This project allows people to be part of it by attending variety of events related to this project, being volunteers (like me) for this project, and being contributors of this project by sharing their stories with others.

Variety of ways were done to share personal memories: One Minute Memory (fill in the form including your best memory you ever had during the days at Widden Primary School, audio recording, and video recording. These are based on what are the stories/memories which people had in Widden School.

This is where people sit on the "hot seat" and answer this question:

It's either the best memory or the worst memory. It's basically sharing the stories. Most of the kids are interested of sharing their stories through video recording.

This mini apple pie was given to me by one of the students from Widden Primary School. So sweet. They even give me coffee.

Overall, the event was successful. A lot of people including the youngsters are interested about this project.

The next upcoming event of this project is in the middle of May. Looking forward to planning this event.

Today, I went over to Pitville Campus. I was attending the Flashback workshop.

It's basically compiling pictures and audios into a video about sharing our own personal story and experience.

I have the pictures and narratives of my story. I'm not gonna tell you right now.

I'm currently working on that. All I need is the iMovie software and recording my story. Then, work on my personal experience video.

Once I'm done, I will share this personal experience/story of mine.

The Red Riding Hood

When we were little kids, we were told nice fairy tales such as the prince save the princess from evil person.

The old version of The Red Riding Hood which we used to hear is that the cute little girl with the red cape went to visit her grandmother. As she merrily walk through the woods, the wolf is already at her grandma's house and eat her up. Then, dress up as the grandma. The girl reaches grandma house and say something like "Grandma, what big eyes you have." etc. Till then, she found it's the werewolf and not grandma. In the end, she is saved by the huntsman.

Yup, the old fairy tale that we used to hear when we were kids.

For this movie, this fairy tales turn into a little bit interesting. Think something like the modern Alice in Wonderland movie with some twist to it.

This modern version of Red Riding Hood is created by the team who used to make films like Alice in Wonderland and Twilight.

It's basically this girl, Valerie, lives in a village. In love with Peter for like 10 years. The village scared of the werewolf. Hunts down the werewolf. And from there secrets come about including Valerie herself.

Throughout movie, it totally reminds me of Twilight version. From panning the camera of the snowy mountains and dark forest to the bigger werewolves. Compare these two and you'll see that there are some similarities like this.

I would say in terms of plot and dialogue, it's quite good actually. There is a flow and there is no confusion while I was watching movie such as pulling me into finding out who on earth is the werewolf. They have made a movie which is dark and mysterious but at the same time the love between Peter and Valerie which makes us think that when will they ever get together and forever.

Enough spoilers. Go and see for yourself if you are into something like Twilight or something mysterious like this one.

Again, this year, fairy tales in movies, like this one, has taken the next stage of making them not only modern but also some elements which would excite audiences.

Rating? I would give 7/10.

DKNY Summer Perfume 2011

Last time, I was not fond with perfumes because some might be strong which makes me feel dizzy. Also, those were quite expensive when I was in Malaysia.

By the time I reach UK, the perfumes were sold at a reasonable price. My favorite brand of perfume is DKNY. I bought Be Delicious DKNY during last summer in UK but I left it in Malaysia. Haihz. = =

This is the DKNY summer edition 2011 which is in my must buy list.

It costs around 43 pounds. I did sample this. It smells sweet and it's not too strong. That's the kind of perfume that I want because I don't like strong perfume smell. If only they have a smaller bottle. Oh well, I'm planning to get this. Either I wait for the summer sales to come or I'll just buy it when I'm in town.

When You're Down, Get Yourself Back On Track

Another day in spring, the weather looks great out there. But, what am I doing? Sick in bed. Multitasking with my laptop while I'm resting.

As it turns out the, all in one sickness comes yet again. Fever, headache, and I might be coming with sore throat sooner of later.

I was suppose to go to the gym at LA Fitness. I was suppose to do yoga over there. Unfortunately, today is the bank holiday after Easter.

If there was an event going on, certain shops (let it be accessories, interiors etc) will follow up with certain themes. It'll be loads of chocolate eggs at the stores, cute lil' stuff toy animals (chicks, rabbits, and lambs), and probably nice decoration to fit into a lovely home.

Take Cadbury for example, they come up with the cute mini Cadbury eggs.

To be honest, after I watch an advertisement about the Cadbury Creme Eggs, I don't even dare to try it. Eggs with chocolate does not even suit my taste. What do you think after trying those? I got a few friends of mine who absolutely love them.

I love Kinder Surprise which after eating the chocolate shells, you get special toys and even take it as your collection.

See what I mean? Those cute and attractive toys that you would keep them as your own personal collection.

Royal Wedding is coming up this Friday, 29th April 2011. I'll be watching it live through YouTube. It saves my time and cost of travel to go all the way to London. Besides, I don't want to end up being in sardines with lots of people. Anyway, after my tiresome 2 -3 weeks trip, I decided to stay in and rest before getting myself back on doing my future activities.

I'll stop here. I think I sort of got the mood of blogging back into shape. All I need is some certain inspiration and idea that I could think of to keep updating my blog with posts frequently. Hopefully, I will come up with something. Till then.

Long Break (Part 4)

After my family went back to Malaysia, I went over to the North East England.

Met up with my friend, Alicia, in Middlesbrough.

I call this trip: DNW trip aka Durham - Newcastle - Whitby Trip

Before that, meet my new friend, Nessie from Highlands, Scotland. ^ ^ Isn't he adorable?

Durham

At first, we wanted to visit Hall Hill Farm where there are lot of farm animals. But the problem is we realized that there is absolutely no transport to our destination even though this farm is well known visited by transport. Silly, right. Being a must see destination when there is no public transport. We end up at Langsley Park (in the middle of no where) and decided to head back to town.

We just walk around town and window shopping.

Even have a look at the cathedral.

One of my friend, Nadiah, told me this: When there's a cathedral in an area, that area is a city. To be honest, that is quite true. Like Gloucester, that place also has a cathedral. Unlike my area, Cheltenham, there isn't one. And when it's a city, there's a lot of good shops especially when it comes to clothes and accessories.

By the way, this is Alicia.

Yup, that's me. As you can see, my face is getting chubbier. I also gain a lil' bit of weight. Haihz.

At Durham was okay but too bad we couldn't visit the cute farm animals in Hall Hill Farm.

Newcastle

Was there only the late evening because my friend was having group assignment. I was just there for window shopping and had Chinese food at Cheeky Duck, China Town.

I didn't expect the WonTon Soup to be this big because I thought it would be just a small bowl. But, I end up having a big one with noodles. @ @

I'll come and explore Newcastle again during the summer cause I heard there are wonderful things to see other than just shopping.

Whitby

The best place which I visited during this trip. Why?

I'll definitely visit again during the summer especially Whitby beach.

I'm back home getting myself back into assignment mode. But at the same time, as many others would say: there is a need of balance between work and/or study with leisure.

I cried while I was thinking about my family. But then again, from this song, I realized that even though they are far away, I will not cry and move on to my goals and dreams in my life. Don't cry too much. Be happy and work hard and enjoy your life.

Mom's Birthday (18/4/11)

The very last day before my family goes back to Malaysia is my mom's birthday. So, we decided to have a nice lunch around Oxford Street and Regent Street.

We had lunch at Ponti's Italian Kitchen.

His trademark smile. He is the "Lasagna" kaki. XD

I really miss them so much. Thank you for the wonderful and memorable trip that is kept in my heart, mind, and soul.

At the moment, I still miss my family, especially my mom.

Long Break (Part 2- London)

12th day: London. A very busy city.

I myself would rather have fresh air from the beautiful gardens like Kensington Gardens....

and Hyde Park.

There was an event in Trafalgar Square. Didn't expect that to happen.

Had dinner in Wong Kei Restaurant which my mom told me that it's quite popular even during her time. That means popular for like....30 over years.

I eat Roast Pork like mad because I miss them so much.

That was the end of our tiresome day.

13th day: A walk to the main attractions

Was a little bit misty when taking pictures of Tower Bridge.

That day was London Marathon held in every major locations. Cause us to go round and round to the locations which we wanted to go.

Had DimSum for lunch. Was absolutely happy with the meal.

We went over to Oxford Street and Regent Street to shop till we drop.

Once the London Marathon was over, we finally get to see the main attractions in London

Lastly, the night version of Tower Bridge.

Long Break (Part 1)

After hectic assignments of last semester, I finally get to spend my 2 week breaks. One is most importantly my family and another one visiting my friend in the part of North East England.

On the very 1st day of visiting my family (after presentation), I had dinner at Prezzo with my family.

2nd day: Brought my family around Cheltenham and Gloucester.

3rd & 4th Day: Cambridge for a few days. I really love the place including seeing the wonderful structures of universities.

By the park....

Thumbs up to Harry's Bed & Breakfast for the warmth of comfort and food (yummy English breakfast).

6th day: Went to Stratford, the birthplace of William Shakespeare

Had ice cream on a sunny day.

Visit Oxford. FYI. Cambridge is way better than Oxford.

We had Thai food for dinner after a tiresome trip.

7th day: They all head off to Edinburgh while I'm was still in Cheltenham to attend a 2 full day class on MA Project (compulsory)

8th day: After class, rush to Edinburgh by train. 5 - 6 hours journey.

Finally, reach Castleview Guest House. Slept throughout the night to power up my energy for the Highlands trip.

9th day: Loch Lomond. Weather was quite bad and couldn't get good pictures.

10th day: From Loch Lomond. The weather was getting better and we get the chance to take pictures by the lake.

The owner of the Culag Lakeside house is kind.

Drove to Inverness. By the time we reached there, the view was amazing~ I felt like I was floating in the air.

And I do love the fresh seafood.

11th day: Said goodbye to Inverness.....

...and hello and goodnight to Edinburgh.

12th day: An early morning flight to London. I can't believe hand bag is considered to be a hand carry bag. One person can only bring one hand carry bag to the plane. So, I have to stuff my hand bag to my mom's hand carry bag. Troublesome. = =

Was totally tired on that day.
